Remembering Our Heroes: Tribute to the Fallen Range Officers at Rajaji National Park

In the somber wake of an irrevocable tragedy, we, the officer trainees at CASFOS Burnihat, unite in grief to pay homage to valiant souls lost in a heart-wrenching accident at Rajaji National Park.

In a devastating incident on Monday evening, four individuals, including two forest rangers, lost their lives as their trial electric vehicle (EV) met with an accident within Uttarakhand's Rajaji Tiger Reserve. Wildlife warden Aloki Devi, reported missing after falling into the Chilla canal during this unfortunate incident, was a member of the RFO batch 2015-16 from our own academy, CASFOS Burnihat.

The chilling details of the accident were captured by the dashboard camera of the EV, providing a somber account of the unfortunate event.

Today, in the first stop of our Central-North India tour, we got the opportunity to interact with the higher officials of the Bihar Forest Department. This is our third study tour of India. Before this, we have done other states of Assam, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Sikkim etc. During our last visit to Eastern India, the way, Jharkhand Forest Department took care of us, it was unforgettable. By the way, it is a very good tradition of Forest Department that even if you go to any corner of the country, being an officer of Forest Department, you will be greeted warmly, but still, if you get better treatment than expected at some places, you will definitely feel very happy.
