Project Management Nuances Explored Through AK Dharni Sir's Expertise.

We had the privilege of having Prof. A.K. Dharni Sir's classes on project management, a subject known for its complexity. What made his classes stand out was his unique ability to convey intricate concepts in a comprehensible manner. As a retired IFS officer, his wealth of experience brought the subject to life through practical examples and captivating case studies.

One remarkable aspect of Sir's teaching was the integration of his personal experiences, having served for an extensive period in the Kerala Forest Department and eventually retiring as PCCF. His stories not only enriched our understanding of project management but also delved into the fascinating realm of wildlife management.

The interdisciplinary nature of the subject allowed us to explore wildlife management alongside project management under the Environmental Economics umbrella. The classroom became a window to the world, with Sir's vivid narratives taking us on a virtual tour from South Africa and Namibia to the iconic Yellowstone Park in America. His stories weren't just geographical journeys but insightful glimpses into protected areas worldwide, featuring diverse wild species – from The Great Indian bustard to Siberian cranes.

A highlight of the course was the practical sessions held in the computer lab, where complex functions of MS Excel were dissected to solve problems related to project management. The meticulous approach in resolving these Excel challenges left us in awe, showcasing the real-world applications of technology in the field.

One of the most heartening moments came when Sir announced his return to conduct classes for another paper after our OJT (On-the-Job Training). The enthusiasm among officer trainees was palpable, a testament to the impact he had on our understanding of management principles.
