A Journey into the Heart of Ayurveda: South India Study Tour Chronicles.

Embarking on our South India tour, the day commenced at the crack of dawn as we boarded the academy bus bound for Guwahati Airport at 3:30 AM. A seamless flight with Indigo at 6:30 AM marked the beginning of our fourth study tour, following explorations in North-East India, East India, and Central-North India.

Our inaugural day in South India unfolded with a 10:30 AM departure from Bangalore Airport, landing at the Institute of Wood Science and Technology hostel by 11:30 AM. After a quick refresh and lunch, our journey continued to the Transdisciplinary Health Sciences and Technology University (TDU) in Bangalore, reaching by 2:00 PM.

Established in 2013 under the sponsorship of the FRLHT Trust, TDU is a beacon of transdisciplinary research and education. Over its first decade, TDU has delved into the convergence of Ayurveda and life sciences, boasting a substantial repository in Ayurvedic medical literature, phytochemistry, and genetic and microbial sciences.

Led by Chairman cum Chancellor Sam Pitroda and Vice Chancellor Darshan Shankar, the university's commitment to integrating ancient Ayurvedic knowledge with modern science was articulated by Assistant Registrar Mr. Ravi Kumar in a video overview. Subsequently, Registrar Mr. A.K. Gupta delivered a detailed PowerPoint presentation, highlighting TDU's unique synthesis of traditional healing principles with cutting-edge technology.

Our journey continued to the nearby I-AIM Healthcare Center, a 100-bed integrative healthcare hospital established in 2011 as part of the FRLHT trust. Dr. Poornima Devkumar, Joint Medical Director at I-AIM, shared insights into the institution's clinical endeavors, emphasizing evidence-based Ayurveda and ongoing research initiatives.

Post-presentation, we explored the labs of I-AIM before heading to the TDU campus.

There, Mr. Dakshina Murathi and Mr. Arun Kumar, as resource persons, unveiled the Ayurvedic properties of various medicinal plants.

The day concluded as we left the campus at 4:35 PM, reflecting on the harmonious blend of tradition and innovation encountered throughout the enriching day.
