Beginning of new year with the responsibility of Mess Duty Officer (MDO).

On the very first day of the year, I got the opportunity to fulfill the responsibility of Mess Duty Officer (MDO). The mess located in the hostel premises is run by the trainee officers only. For this the Mess Committee is elected and it works under the overall guidance of the college administration.

Here every officer trainee gets some responsibilities from time to time in turn according to his attendance number. My attendance number is 15 and my number of MDO responsibility coincidentally came on the first day of the year itself. I really enjoy doing such responsibilities.

Lav Singh, an all-rounder cricketer from the senior RFO batch and a wonderful personality with whom playing cricket on weekends is nothing but fun, was today's MDO from the RFO batch. It was a lot of fun going and buying fresh vegetables from the local market with Luv and Amrita ma'am who was on mess manager's duty.

The prices of the vegetables available here in the local market were almost the same as those available in Rajasthan, but it was a little surprising to see that like in the vegetable market of Alwar in Rajasthan, where I used to go many times, the vegetable traders here don't try to attract buyers by saying the prices of vegetables out loud.
Here the market of non-veg items is decorated next to the vegetable market. All the businessmen in the market behave with civility and on bargaining, they reduce the price comfortably.
